As my girls have grown, they have become more curious about the world outdoors. They love the feeling of the wind in their hair, the rain drops on their head, and the grass between their toes. Often times, I’ll find Kim carrying daisies around in her pockets and flowers in her hair. Although my garden doesn’t love when they trample in it, I can’t help but feel content that they love being outdoors as much as their daddy does. Running around barefoot is also a favorite of theirs, and sometimes it can be daunting to keep their shoes on outdoors. We recently had an incident where Kim stepped in an ant pile and was bit by quite a few ants. This is when I knew my toddler first-aid kit, was lacking something.
Hearing her cries, is definitely something I won’t forget. I wish I had been more prepared for the instances when they need something to soothe their pain. Hailee has really been into riding her bike lately, so I’ve done some digging to find the best products to help both my girls when they fall or get hurt outdoors. Let’s face it, it’s inevitable. Looking for the right products to stock up on for your first aid kit is hard, but here are my top recommendations to any toddler mama.
After researching a few brands I landed upon the brand Dermoplast. Now, if you’re a mom you may remember this brand as something you used postpartum after you’ve had your babies. But it is so much more than just that.
Dermoplast comes in two different formulas, safe for the family (ages 2+). They have a Pain, Burn & Itch Formula and a First Aid formula. Both are amazing products and are used for different instances. They both come in a convenient spray bottle for an easy no-touch application, which I love!
Dermoplast Pain, Burn & Itch
Dermoplast Pain, Burn & Itch comes in a blue container and can be used for scrapes, minor cuts, burns, sunburns and insect bites. I saw this, and immediately knew I had to get this one for Kimmy. It’s formula includes menthol, which is used to cool and comfort the skin. Other important ingredients are Lanolin and Aloe, which are great for soothing insect bites. The sunburn relief this product gives is also an added bonus, as this summer has been one for the books!
The other formula comes in a red container, and is their First Aid formula, which is an Antibacterial Spray. One of the main differences between these two products is that the First Aid formula has antibacterial properties that kill 99.99% of germs. This is in addition to the main features of the formula mentioned before, would work amazing to prevent infection after a fall.
These products are my go to in my medicine cabinet now, if you’d like to try them for yourself you can save using this coupon.
