Hey guys! We have had so much fun refreshing Hailee’s big girl room this week with Big Lots, I wanted to share with you some tips for organization and how we turned a box full of mismatched and broken toys into this!

When it comes to toys it can be hard to let go of old ones that may have sentimental value, so I recommend going through and putting a few aside that you may want to save. I really didn’t think I would have a tough time with letting go of toys, but I found it harder to do when I sat there and went though them. So give yourself a day to really sift through and put some aside for yourself.
Now that you’ve gotten past the hard part, you want to group toys in categories. I grouped as follows, plush toys, developmental toys, electronic toys, and miscellaneous. I find that when you create categories for the toys, it’s much easier to get organized and stay organized. You can label the bins if you’d like, but I just felt for aesthetic reasons labeling was not necessary in this instance. We used the Dream Street Pink Fabric bins to store all of Hailee’s toys and found that they were just the perfect pop of color she needed in her space. We also love that they have handles and are at her eye level so she can see exactly what is inside of each bin.

We inserted all of these bins into the Dream Street six bin storage cubby we got for her. I actually put this cubby together myself and it was incredible easy to do. It comes with all the pieces you need, and everything is labeled for a quick DIY project. She has two extra bins at the moment that are not in use, but we figured with Christmas around the corner they will definitely get filled in no time.
To top it all off, we placed this adorable Unicorn Letter Board above her cubbies, I just think it just gives it that perfect balance of fun and functionality. I love that they have so many different bins to choose from and it just makes her room look so much neater and organized than before. It’s nice for all of her things to have their own home. Now time to teach Hailee how to put things away in the correct spot, but I’ll leave that for another blog post. Thanks for checking out my tips and tricks to organize your toddlers room. I definitely recommend Big Lots if you are looking for a budget friendly and easy way of doing it!
