Duke is now over 5 months and weighs a whopping 48 pounds! Although he is massive now, he is still very much a puppy. We are still training him to go potty outdoors, and take him on breaks regularly. Because of this we have been kennel training him, since he was just a few weeks old. He is down to only one accident every 3 or so weeks, so he is definitely making so much progress when it comes to almost being fully housebroken.
We eventually would like to have him be able to roam around the home unsupervised, but for now we are making sure to watch him closely and reward him when he is doing good! Duke has outgrown his old kennel, so we recently upgraded him to this Petmate Plastic Kennel. It’s much more spacious and just perfect for a growing pup.
We love that this kennel can double as his home away from home when we go on family trips. It’s a familiar spot in an unfamiliar place, that always comforts Duke. We went with the 36″ kennel, perfect for dogs sized 50-70 pounds. Petmate Plastic Kennels come in sizes for all pets, ranging from 19″ to 48″ inches. No matter how big or small they may be, there’s a size just for your pup. Because of the curved nature of this plastic kennel, Duke feels more safe and secure and so much more cozy than his previous kennel. Plastic Kennels also minimize sharp edges, and satisfy Duke’s want to be snug and feel safe.
When we go on trips to visit my family, Duke’s plastic kennel fits perfectly in the trunk of our Durango. We feel great knowing he is safe, and comfort in knowing he is in his own little home away from home.
