Skipping the theme parks and water parks this summer? Staying within a budget, or just don’t want to be around the crowds? Here are 3 creative ways to bring the Summer fun straight to your own home, without breaking the bank.

Backyard Water Park
When you think of summer, what’s the first thing you think about? Water? Sun? A bathing suit? Maybe for mom a margarita, or two? My first idea involves all of the above. I brought the waterpark to our backyard with a little bit of a twist, all for under a hundred dollars. You can find the cutest blow up pools and water accessories at target, I purchased a kiddie pool and repurposed a floatie we had from last year, for more of a summer vibe. I’ll link my favorites below if you’re looking for some water fun this summer. Other options are sprinklers, slip and slides and my favorite a snow cone machine! I found one for just under 30 dollars.
Our favorite swimmers are from Kourtni Jeane and Elisabeth and Faith (seen here). Bows are Zozu.co , you can use code HEYITSRUBEE to save! All other outfit details can be found here.
Movie Night
Why not plan an outdoor movie night? Grab a few blankets, popcorn, perhaps some s’mores? And sit back and relax. This is also a perfect time to wind down from all the water fun earlier in the day. The kids and I recently checked out Luca, available on Disney. Make sure to plan ahead on which movies you’ll be screening to avoid scrolling though your streaming service all night. I’ve linked a few of my favorite projectors and movie night must haves below!
Bubbles and Chalk
It never fails, the girls see bubbles and a huge smile comes across their face. You can find everything you need for a night filled of bubble fun on amazon. Creating huge quantities for a fun filled day/night. And if you have a patio out back in the shade, chalk can make for hours of fun! I get the non-toxic as Kimmy has been know to put the chalk in her mouth, same with the bubble liquid. I purchase the powder form as it isn’t as heavy as buying the formula, and lasts much longer.
Hope that gave you some inspiration to create a great summer for your babes, no matter what your budget is. Comment below which was your fave! And if you’re planning on hitting a waterpark this summer, make sure to check out my blog post here on some great tips for the park with toddlers!
